Engine Checkout

pulled out the motor for visual inpection, micing and mesuring will come later before it will be setup for its first run.

after removing the heads jugs and rocker boxs

the valve heads where pretty rusty and sezied

the cylinder walls had minimal scoring and just a little carbon deposits, im thinking pre-detonation?

The pistions also looked good with minimal scoring and small deposists on the head, rings where in great shape with no craking or heavy wearing.

after removing the covers i could get a better veiw of the cams, no chipped teeth and all seemed to turn well by hand, these stock cams wont be running in this motor, will be upgrading to Andwers proformance cams

primary chain had some slack, not sure what the proper tension is but thats what the Harley manual is for.
